Understanding your Connections

Introduction

Your Manymoon Connection list is like an address book of everyone you've interacted with through Manymoon. In addition to other things, the connection list controls what names and emails appear in the autocomplete drop down boxes that appear when you type into a user name text box, for example while assigning a task.

To see all your Manymoon connections, click the Connections link in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

You can use the drop-down filter to choose between a list of your Connections, who are people you've connected with in Manymoon, and your Imported Contacts, who are names and emails you've imported but who you haven't connected with yet (by say, assigning them a task in Manymoon).

Connection Sources

There are several ways connections can get added to your list:

1) They are part of the same domain as you. For example, if you are joe@acme.com, all Manymoon users with an acme.com email will automatically be part of your Connection list.

2) They are part of your paid team.

3) You have personally connected with them by inviting them to your team, assigning tasks to them, etc.

Deleting Connections

You can remove a connection from your list by clicking the X in the connection item that appears when you hover your mouse over the item. Note: If the connection has the same email domain as you (for example they work for the same company), then their connection may automatically reappear. This is a known issue, but we are not sure when it will be corrected.

Working With Connections

  • You can click on any connection to see their profile.
  • The meter next to each connection shows how strongly connected you are to them, which means how much work and data you share
  • Your list of Connections determines what populates the autofill box when you assign tasks, shares, etc. to other users.
  • A connection who you have communicated with but has not signed into Manymoon will show "Pending". (Coming soon)
  • If you want to import contacts, who you can then collaborate with in Manymoon, click on the "Invite" link at the very top of the screen

Working With Imported Contacts

  • If you invite an "Imported Contact" to a task, project or communicate with them in any way through Manymoon, once they sign up for their own Manymoon account they will go from being an "Imported Contact" to being a "Connection".

I don't know the exact formula, but the bars basically represent how many projects, tasks etc. you have in common with the user. It's a quick way of figuring out who you work the most with.

Is there a way to send an email blast to all connections at once?

Hey Leah,

You can certainly send a message to all your connections at once. If you choose, they will also receive an email informing them of the message. To do this:

1. Log in to Manymoon

2. Go to your Home->Activity tab

3. Type your message in the "Share something" box

4. Click the "Send email" checkbox

5. Set the "Share with" filter to "Everyone"

6. Click Post

Dear all,

I am new at Manymoon and have some doubts about connections. I have uploaded some documents related to my project and when I have clicked in Share, the document has been sent to everyone in the connection list. How can I upload a document and share it only with members of the project?

Can I undo this action or protect the document so it won`t be seen by others?

Thank you for your help!

Raquel
