I Installed Manymoon in my Google Apps Domain and Now There is a Message / Advertisement / Ad / Gadget / Buttons at the Bottom of Our Email Messages that Says "Click here to get productive".

What you are seeing is the Manymoon gmail gadget, which allows users to turn emails directly into Manymoon projects and tasks, and it is apparently not working correctly. If it were working, your users would see two buttons that say "Assign Task" and "Create Project", instead of "Click here to get productive".
Unfortunately, the Manymoon Gmail gadget is automatically added for all Google Apps users when Manymoon is added to a Google Apps account. In order to remove the Gmail gadget you will have to have to have your Google Apps administrator disable Manymoon for the entire domain. This is a limitation of Google's technology, and we are actively working to try and get them to change this.
There are two possible solutions to this problem.
1) We get the gmail gadget working so that it allows your users to turn emails into Manymoon projects and tasks.
2) You uninstall Manymoon from your Google Apps domain.
The good news is, if you need to remove Manymoon from the domain, you can still use it with almost no loss of functionality. The following article explains how.
Also, you can at any time re-install Manymoon into the domain with no disruptions of any kind.
Please let me know what you would like to do.

This is not an advertisement!

What you are seeing is the Manymoon Gmail Gadget, which allows users to turn emails directly into Manymoon projects and tasks. (Despite its name, the gadget only works in Google Apps email accounts, not in regular gmail accounts).

If the gadget is not activated or not working correctly you will see a message that reads "Click here to get productive."

If the gadget is working properly, you will see two buttons that say "Assign Task" and "Create Project". (For information on how to use the gadget, see http://manymoon.zendesk.com/entries/311865-turning-emails-into-tasks or Read our blog for a video demo of the feature and details about the Manymoon Gmail Gadget.)

Figure 2: Gadget working correctly.

Below are explained the procedures for a) Getting the gadget working and b) Removing it from your Google Apps domain.

Getting the Gmail Gadget Working

The first time a user sees the "Click here to get productive" link (Figure 1), they should click "here", and the link should turn into two buttons, "Assign Task" and "Create Project" (Figure 2). Once this is done, these buttons should show up in all emails. If a user has to do this more than once, there is a problem, please contact us.

If the buttons don't appear at all, then you may have to take extra steps to get the gadget working. Please see

 http://manymoon.zendesk.com/entries/181209-how-to-setup-the-manymoon-gmail-gadget-for-google-apps-domains

Removing the Gmail Gadget from Your Google Apps Domain

The Manymoon Gmail gadget is automatically added for all Google Apps users when Manymoon is added to a Google Apps account. In order to remove the Gmail gadget you will have to have to have your Google Apps administrator disable Manymoon for the entire domain. This is a limitation of Google's technology, and we are actively working to try and get them to change this.

If you or your users don't want the gadget, there are two possible solutions to this problem.

1) Follow the instructions above to get the gadget working, and instruct your users on how to take advantage of it.

2) Uninstall Manymoon from your Google Apps domain. (Click here for instructions)

The good news is, if you need to remove Manymoon from the domain, you can still use Manymoon with almost no loss of functionality. This article explains how.

Also, you can at any time re-install Manymoon into the domain with no disruptions of any kind.

Many Google Apps domain administrators who want to initially roll Manymoon out to only a few users follow the procedures in the article above, and then when they are ready to roll Manymoon out to all their users, they then install it in the Google Apps domain (at which point everyone gets access to the Gmail Gadget).

Since you've changed the set up to remove the contextual gadget from the free plan it sits there and spins in perpetuity.

It means I have to remove it from my Domain, I'm not likely to use it any more clearly won't be upgrading and I can no longer show it to my clients.

The gadget was not taken away from anyone, we are experiencing a bug with it. It should be fixed soon. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

I also find this gadget extremely annoying. We selected manymoon for its integration in the google apps domain. Throwing manymoon from the domain will make it more invisible and so less employees will use it. I want to be able to keep MM in the domain and NOT have the gadget.

I also see no use for it: making tasks from mails leads to poorly phrased tasks, and even if I would use it, this would be for less than 1% of the mails I process per day, yet the gadget takes up costly screen real estate. I like manymoon but you are not the center of my world.

Your gadget politics also do not scale: what if every app in your domain installs such a gadget? We use creately, mindmeister, sliderocket,... would they all be entitled to add such a gadget?

Installing the gadget should be an option. If google is not yet ready to provide such an option, don't pollute the mail client. Would implementing the gadget via gmail labs not be a better option?

Hey Bart,

I completely understand your point of view. We are trying to get Google to allow the gadget to be turned on and off, but they have not yet come through. Since the vast majority of customers do like the gadget, we unfortunately won't be removing it from the install package, so the only option is to completely remove MM from the GA domain. I'm very sorry about this, this is one of those rare situations where I don't have a better suggestion or a workaround.

Hello David,

My organization finds this email gadget to be very invasive to our email client. We enjoy the integration and convenience of single sign-on between Manymoon and Google Apps; however, the gadget is an eyesore, especially for users who aren't actively using Manymoon.

This feature does not help productivity for the majority. It wastes space and time since users need to skip over it every time they want to reply or forward an email. Please find a way to make this feature optional.

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,

We would LOVE to make it optional, but Google doesn't support the technology. If you decide you need to remove Manymoon from your Google Apps domain, you can still use Manymoon with almost no loss of functionality. Please see

As you stated, you have the option of removing this from the install package.  Please do so and let me know when it is available to use without the gmail gadget automatically attached.  Until then, we are unable to allow Manymoon on our domain.

Your response here is very disappointing.

I do not think this is a google problem. If there is no option to turn it off, it was a bad decision to turn it on for everybody. I cannot imagine many people turning more than 50% of their mails into manymoon tasks.

I would advise to remove for everybody, I think most of the users will be happier with the freed up space than the few clicks they saved for a little portion of their mails.

Steve and Bart,

I understand and sympathize with your point of view. However, we have a very large number of users who love the gmail gadget, and we are not in a position to be able to remove it from the install package.

It would be ideal if we could remove it from individual user accounts, but as I said we unfortunately can't do that because of limitations with Google's API.

The solution is to still use Manymoon with Google Apps, just not to install Manymoon in the Google Apps domain. You can do this with very minimal loss of functionality, as explained in http://support.manymoon.com/entries/20065232-using-manymoon-with-go...

Thanks.

Can't you at least move the gadget? The positioning below every e-mail is extremely annoying.  If it was off to the side, out of the way, it wouldn't be so bad.

Hey Samuel--My best suggestion is to file this in our feature request forum.

Why can't manymoon use a sidebar closable gadget or contextual one to know if a user wants to be using Manymoon?

Thanks very much for the information. I believe our developers are aware of this, but I don't have any control over how this is prioritized for development and I don't have any ETA for if/when a change might be made. The best idea is to file a feature request, as I suggested above.

At least one of the links in the above messages no longer works. Twice above there's a link to a support entry #318815. When I click on either I get taken right back to this page, not the new one. I did a search of the database and found the topic listed with a different number.

Every time I come back to MM I find something else to make me think twice and remove it.

I don't need to be reminded about your product every time I see an email, but what I do need is Gantt charts.

Hey Robert,

Sorry about that. You can get rid of the gmail gadget by removing Manymoon from your Google Apps domain (if you are the domain admin). If not, you should talk to the domain admin.

Unfortunately, I can't give out any information on future feature development.

I can offer a work-around if you're using Chrome as your browser, but it will hide ALL gmail gadgets within the same display space in the message body. It works with both the older and newest themes/'look', as of today.

1st. Download the Minimalist for GMail extension... https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/oddhbkghjoccbljmagcgoklbfdjeiinb

2nd. In the Minimalist setup page under "General", click the "Use custom CSS" option.

3rd. In the textbox below it, enter:

.c0 {
visibility: hidden;
display: none;
height: 1px;
}

The ".c0" class is the div container for all the gadgets, and modifying the CSS style allows you to hide the containers in the browser instead of anyone having to remove the code itself - and it can be done on a per-user basis.

Randy,

  You are awesome.  This worked great even in the minimalist for everything extension that superseded the minimalist for gmail extension.

thanks again!

manymoon is a scam.

it won't let me uninstalled, some trojan plugin still linker at the back of my google apps email account and search online, they blame it on google since 2009.

then manymoon said I've to login which mean I've to reinstall manymoon. not surprisingly, after reinstall and uninstall, its still there, the plugin they left behind on your email.

then they start to remove threads that is negative about them or provide you dodgy links to deleted web pages when they said will help you to remove them.

the only solution is to complaint to google apps. please do so everyone that face problems wiht manymoon.

dodgy program. from  s satisfy user to a very unhappy user for being force to use a program
